The Australian pair sat 11th after dressage on 33.9, before rising to fifth with a clear show jumping round. They truly excelled in the cross-country phase, producing the second-fastest time to add just 4.4 time penalties, finishing on a winning total of 38.3. Germany’s Felix Etzel and TSF Polartanz took runner-up honours on 41.1.
The 10-year-old APH Sodoku, bred in Australia by Carlene Barton (by APH Rocardo out of APH Sorrel), won the Adelaide CCI3*-L in 2024 and has since campaigned in Europe with Barton. Strzegom marks the gelding’s best result at CCI4*-S level to date.
