The FEI Eventing World Championship for U25 will be the first championship of its kind, marking an exciting opportunity for rising stars of the sport. The age cut-off for the FEI Eventing World Championship for U25 allows riders to compete from the beginning of the calendar year in which they turn 16 until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 25.
Brooke Dougall and My Locky
Based in Bonn, Germany, 25-year-old Brooke Dougall relocated to Europe in 2022 to pursue a career in the equestrian industry with TS Showjumping. She has since progressed to the role of Head Groom and has worked at some of the sport’s most prestigious events, including the FEI World Championships, Asian Games, and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
In 2023, she brought her horse, My Locky, to Europe. The 18-year-old Hanoverian gelding, who was bred by Brooke’s mother, debuted at FEI level in Australian in 2018 and since risen up through the grades. Last year, they debuted at CCI4*S level – the same level as the Championships.
“I am incredibly proud and excited to represent Australia at Millstreet International Horse Trials this year and look forward to continuing our journey on the international stage,” said Brooke via Equestrian Australia.
Lamoza Velisha and Call Me Cooley
Lamoza Velisha continues to make her mark as one of Australia’s most exciting young eventing talents.
This month, the 19-year-old enjoyed a career-defining victory in winning the Melbourne International Three-Day Event CCI4*-S title aboard rising 15-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding Call Me Cooley – her Championship nomination.
“I am incredibly excited and proud to have been selected to represent Australia at the FEI Eventing U25 World Championship at Millstreet. I am grateful for the unwavering support of my family, coaches Karen Blythe and Yona Lloyd, my owners, supporters and the wider team who have helped me along the way,” said Lamoza via Equestrian Australia.
“I am looking forward to the opportunity to compete against some of the world’s best young riders and proudly represent Australia on the international stage.”
